Welcome to Petite Paws Cattery

Petite Paws is a small family run cattery located in La Tourterie, a hamlet in the Charente close to Montemboeuf, Montbron, Chasseneuil and La Rochefoucauld. This new and modern cattery is set in pleasant garden surroundings which provides a peaceful and tranquil environment and is exclusively for cats. We offer boarding facilities from just one night to extended long stays.

We are a fully registered with the DSV (Veterinary Services) and have been awarded certificates in cat care and cattery management.

As lovers of cats, we run the cattery not only as a business but for pleasure, offering love, cuddles and affection to all the cats who come and stay with us.  The happiness and well-being of your cat(s) is our main priority whether young or old, moggie or pedigree, we love them all and we always provide a complementary tuna supper on Friday evenings to welcome in the weekend! A very important feature of the cattery is that we do not board dogs, therefore the cats are not disturbed or frightened by barking. This is very important, as although many cats will learn to live happily with their own family dog, it is a very different matter when unfamiliar dogs start barking near a cattery.

You are of course very welcome to phone or e-mail us during your cats stay to find out how they are settling in.

The Pens:

Situated in our private garden with wonderful countryside views, cats enjoy their own individual pens. Each pen comprises exterior space with chair, cushions and multi level platforms and private inside space for sleeping and eating. Each bed has a heated pad for the cooler months. We supply bedding, litter, toys, scratch posts and feeding bowls. Clients are however welcome to bring in personal items for their cats if they wish, to help them settle in.

The cattery has recently been extended to10 individual pens and now includes one isolation pen at the end.

Grooming and Playtime.

Cats need social grooming for their well-being, and we pay great attention not just to maintaining their coats, but in ensuring they have lots of cuddles and social contact. Playtime is also on the agenda with toys and fun times an important part of the cat's stay.

Feeding.

We ask owners to provide their own food for their cats stay, so they can follow their normal diet, as we know how discerning cats can be. However, we provide a tuna supper on a Friday, as a treat to welcome in the weekend. Meal times will normally be twice a day although other requirements can be accommodated, and each cat will always have fresh water in their unit.

Health Policy.

Cats are required to be current on all vaccinations and we require your vaccination book which we will retain during your cats stay.

We do ask that you treat your cats for fleas, ticks and worms before their stay with us.

Our local vet is literally a one minute drive from us and is always on hand.

We are able to look after poorly cats, or cats who require regular medication.

Please come and view.

We feel we offer the highest standards in both quality and care, but we understand it is hard parting with a beloved pet even just for a few days, and encourage new clients to come and meet us to discuss your cat’s requirements and to ensure you have complete peace of mind. All we ask is that you call us beforehand to arrange a convenient time.
